The hook knife is a tool originating from Iran (called gholab e qalibafi in Persian), traditionally used in several countries of this region of the world.
It is used both to knot and then to cut the wool thread on the warp thread to form the rug's pattern, point by point, row by row.
We hand-make our tools because they are difficult to source in France.
